The farm

The church community has an apiary, fowls and animal farm. Every visitor is surprised by the size of pigs – almost two-meter-long.

There are geese, turkeys, pearl-hens, ducks, rabbits, goats and cows. It’s a real zoo. It is especially touching in spring, when the young appear. Children are glad to feed them.

Not all animals bring income – there are 17 dogs and about 30 cats left at the church. Well, blessed is the one who pities beasts too.

In our days many have forgotten the words of the Scripture: “in toil shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life” (Genesis 3:17). They have forgotten that abandoned land and empty fields is a reproach to us, who haven’t fulfilled God’s will. The return to the land, that is, to one’s natural state, helps us to return to God.

Here, in the small church community, a big work of God is being done – saving human souls through work on the land and prayer. But one human soul is more precious to God that all the beauty and goods of the world, because the Lord created man for Himself and human heart cannot find peace until it finds the Lord.
